Myths & Facts

I can't have more than one sexually transmitted disease (STD) at a time.

A person can be infected with more than one STD. A person with an untreated STD may also be 6-10 times more likely to pass on or acquire HIV during sex. Risk for infection increases 10 to 300-fold in the presence of a genital ulcer, such as occurs in syphilis or genital herpes.

Introduction

Steps2Health has been designed to help you find out information about HIV and HIV testing. Take some time to look around, or leave whenever you want. It’s about taking steps and how big those steps are is up to you.

Steps2Health also contains a short African maleonline questionnaire which will help you to determine if you may have been exposed to HIV and will help you take your time to decide whether HIV testing is right for you.

The questionnaire is totally anonymous and totally confidential.

No matter what reason you are visiting this site, it is important to remember that there are many support groups offering advice, information or just someone to talk to about HIV; see the ‘Help & Support’ section of this site.

To continue to the questionnaire, just click continue below or go to the ‘Questionnaire’ section of this site. If that’s too big a step for now, why not stay and have a look around.
